This will be a bread of the week post, usually on Tuesdays. It is obviously on once a week. It will not be on during school holidays and things like that because the majority of the Bread Team are students, and even though we love bread we do need a holiday every noun and again. :} <-- also we all agree that this face is one of the cutest you can make ;}
The bread of the week is a Baguette. The baguette originated in French and was created by a French baker. It is not certain who exactly this French baker was, but we know that they/he/she was French. Did you know that baguette also means 'a gem, especially a diamond, cut in a long rectangular shape' [taken from google dictionary]?
So what actually is a baguette? It is a long, thin loaf of French bread that is commonly made from basic lean dough. The dough is actually defined by French law. It is distinguishable by its length and crisp crust.
A baguette has a diameter of about 5-6 centimetres and a usual length of about 65cm, although it can be up to a meter long!
That's all for now, thank you for reading the bread of the week!
